The residue was subjected to ISCO (80 g silica gel, solid loading, 2-7% MeOH/CH2C12) to provide the desire product, 5-amino-3-(pyridin-2-20 yl)pyrimidin-4(3H)-one (0.3 80 g, 2.0 19 mmol, 74.8 % yield), as a white solid.
